In order for Orania to grow from a town to a city, good-natured individuals or institutions must be prepared to invest in the growth and development of Orania. To raise this capital and to duly manage it, the Groeifonds was already established in 1999 as an investment vehicle. By public capital formation the Groeifonds succeeded in not only keeping, but also further expanding the growth phase Orania is currently experiencing.  

Projects that are financed by the Groeifonds, includes the following:  

• upgrading of the electricity network
• erection of the Duiker complex for student housing and offices
• expansion of Karoosig old-age home

Various other entrepreneurs were also financed, that contributed to the development and stimulation of various businesses in Orania.
